SUNDAY 25th April: Benny demanded to come out of the day pen this morning, he even tried tried to climb the foot high barrier at the front of the day pen. He got his chin and one leg over the bar but just could not manage, thankfully, to heave the rest of is body over. Boots also at one point shouted and made a fuss to come out, as the others were asleep, I gave in and lifted him out for a cuddle and he immediately snuggled down and went to sleep round my neck. These pups are getting me well trained!
All the pups are now SITTING, and look like meer cats. Their tri make up is also slowly arriving, but in most light they still look black and white, with maybe the exception of boots who has a lot of tri on his legs appearing.
When the puppies came out to play at 9pm, Diego was the star turn, he was determined to wonder off, and we kept putting him back on the mat. He chased after his mother whilst we weren't looking and we found him in his mothers dinner! And there was I not planing on weaning them till next week!
SATURDAY 24th April: The pups are two weeks old, all eyes open now, and I have noticed that benny and Diego have responded to sound, so they are starting to hear. I put the pups in the day pen this morning and when there was a knock at the front door and the big dogs all barked, the two boys sat up (they had been a sleep at the bottom of a pile of bodie) and was alert rushing to the side of the day pen to investigate. The pups play time is getting stronger but still very short burst and within five minutes of coming out to play on a rug on the floor they are falling back to sleep. Benny and Boots both were very interested in the new Tuggy toy that Jamie had brought them and both the boys tried to chew the tuggy when it was waved in front of them.
