It all started with our Merrye, a super family pet and a great champion. Merrye won the Crufts Obedience title in 1970 and 1974. She was the mother of six wonderful puppies, three of which also became Champions, Ob.Ch.Asa of Tamerrye, Ob.Ch.Flete of Tamerrye (Crufts winner 1978) and Ob.Ch.Mischief of Tamerrye “Ashla” (Crufts champion 1975).

In 1976 when the Kennel Club recognised the Border Collie as a breed it was our Ashla that was used to illustrate the breed standard. Beauty as well as brains.

A couple of generations later the Tanamerye affix was formed when my good friend, Chris Galvin bred from  Ashla’s granddaughter Kebby, she added an AN to our affix and dropped an R, so that her affix was similar but not the same as ours. Kebby produced two litters including. Ob.Ch.Tanamerye Morning Star, Ob.Ch.T.Bunnie, Ob.Ch.T.Banner Rigg, T.Shannon 2 CC’s 1 res, T.Maine 1 cc 1 res, T.Torver 1 cc. In 1997 we lost the last of our Tamerrye boys, and Chris kindly offered to breed a litter from Kebby’s daughter Liffey so that we could have a little bit of our Merrye back.
