WEDNESDAY 28th April: (2wks + 4 DAYS) Swipper was pick of litter last week this week he has been much quieter, whether he had a bit of a tummy ache, not sure, but Monday I was starting to get worried as he slept more then the others and was not as pushy or as playful as he had been, pleased to say he is now more active, but still not his bolshy self, more a polite schoolboy, plays with the others and us, but not the bully at the milkbar, like he was. However I know from past experience that each day a different puppy is the "Star" whilst others have quiet days, its just as well, otherwise everybody would want the head boy and nobody else would get picked.
Diego has the dubious honour of being the first to be smacked by the cat, he would not leave bella the cat alone and followed her three times when she moved, he was given ample warning by her hissing and ignored it, so she donked him one. He nearly fell over with shock, it did the trick, he left her and went back to finish chewing on Charlottes shoe. It was also Diego who again spotted his mothers dinner bowl and climbed in it to investigate, I removed one puppy and a soggy biscuit, he had made attempts to chew it. Luckily no teeth, they will be arriving in the next week or so.
Boots cried to go back to bed, stood by the side of the cage and attempted to climb in. He obviously enjoys his creature comforts and likes soft vet bed to sleep on, not smelly old carpet, the others snuggled up against me and nodded off.
TUESDAY 27th April: Diego has a shoe fetish and makes a bee line for anybody's shoes where he sits and has a crafty chew, so beware. The pups have also started swimming lessons! First Diego, then Dora and Tico and swipper have taken their turns at one point to climb in to their mums water bowl, Now Benny and Boots had the sense to just dip their noses into the wet stuff and retreat but no the others continued trotting through the water to make it to the other side, messy pups. I only hope they don't do the same when their bowls of porridge goes down on Saturday.
MONDAY 26th April: Made the appointments to visit the hearing and eye vets in Hythe,Southampton (about an hours drive away, maybe a lot more as it will be rush hour traffic) Tueday the 18th May 9am for Mr Mason to have their eyes pra tested (remember that both parents are DNA tested for CEA clear, so not expecting any problems). Will also get a current Pra certifcate for Trio. Then at 10am An appointment with Kate for the ears to be BAER tested, however I have not noticed any of the pups not responding to sound, so I am hopping they will pass that test with flying volours too.
